How much time do I need for this?
For the ideal reset experience, I highly recommend carving out space in your schedule so you have time to prepare your meals, integrate simple self care habits, take an un-rushed pace and rejuvenate your nervous system. If this isn’t realistic for you and you are committed to a reset, you can choose a streamlined track which will minimize your time in the kitchen and do some easy meal prep on days off.
I am wondering if I will feel too restricted?
If you haven’t cleansed or done a reset in the past two years and you have this concern, I recommend starting off with a gentle reset that is not overly restrictive. It is common to feel challenged at times during a cleanse but we want to avoid feeling stressed which is counterproductive and will likely prevent you from wanting to cleanse in the future. A stressed body will not release. In the prep session we will hone in on a menu that feels doable and cleansing for you.
Will my energy be low?
Reset members are typically able to carry out work and family responsibilities with some added time built in for self care. A deeper experience will require extra rest. All levels of cleansing can bring up unexpected moods, emotions and fatigue due to the detox process. It's beneficial to allow space and capacity for this process. Many members choose to reduce or avoid anything extra for the time of the reset.
What if I’m too busy to cook?
You can create a streamlined track that will minimize time in the kitchen and still provide you with simple nourishing smoothies, soups and stews (bonus if you have an Instant Pot). This track will still require a shopping trip and some light meal prep that you can do ahead of time on a day off. Otherwise if you are looking for the most *hands-off* reset experience, you could consider hiring a local high school kid or college student who likes to meal prep. The recipes are designed to be simple and easy.
What if I have a special event to attend?
It is best to avoid these situations since it can be stressful and distracting to your reset process. If you can’t avoid eating out or have a social gathering you must attend, it would be best to bring your own food if possible. Second choice would be to select foods which are closest to your reset menu- light, low or no-fat and easy to digest.
How can I do this if others in my household will be eating different foods?
This is very common. If you will be preparing meals for them as well, I suggest you choose reset recipes that would work for them too and just add toppings to their portion that are outside of your menu, like dairy, gluten, extra fat and/or protein (if they desire). If you become mentally/emotionally challenged or tempted by their food, come back to your important reasons for your reset and remember that it is a very temporary period of time you have committed to.
